For residential roofs up to 3,000 square feet, it usually takes 1-2 days to remove old layers and install shingles and underlayment. Commercial roofs spanning 10,000 square feet usually require 4-5 days for completion.

Just as the installation time for a shingle roof varies with size, slope, and condition, so does the cost. Removing existing materials takes more time and labor than a shingle overlay and will be more expensive.

The Utah Building Code permits a maximum of two layers on a shingle roof. If your roof has only one layer of asphalt shingles, we can do a shingle overlay, adding a new layer over the old one without removing it. This is a cost-effective and simpler option.
